- Unlike other characters, Brant gains significant damage for each % of ER he stacks over 150%.
- The boost Brant gains from this Energy Regen is a massive amount of Flat ATK - so much in fact that running ER 3 cost echoes is preferable over DMG%.
- Having so much Flat ATK already means other sources, like ATK%, are far less effective.
- The result of this is Brant wants to stack as much ER as possible (up to the cap of 180% additional Energy Regen from weapon/echoes) while also favoring other offensive stats instead of ATK stats.

Resonance Chain

Returned from Ashes temporarily causes nearby targets to stagnate while casting. The stagnation effect is removed when Brant is switched off the field.
After casting Intro Skill Applaud for Me! or each flip following Mid-air Attack, Brant's DMG dealt is increased by 20% for 5s, stacking up to 3 times.

Casting Mid-air Attack and Returned from Ashes increases Brant's Crit. Rate by 30%.
Brant's Outro Skill The Course is Set! gains a new enhancement:
When Resonance Skill cast by the incoming Resonator (or nearby Resonators who activate Brant's Outro Skill) hits a target within 20s after Brant's Outro Skill, Brant blasts the hit target, dealing Fusion DMG equal to 440% of Brant's ATK (considered Basic Attack DMG). This explosion can be triggered 1 times per second, up to 2 explosions in total.
- This effect remains active when Brant is switched off the field.

The DMG Multiplier of Returned from Ashes is increased by 42%.

The Shield obtained from Returned from Ashes is increased by 20%. Casting Returned from Ashes restores HP for all nearby Resonators in the team (6.60 HP for every 1% Energy Regen).

Dealing Basic Attack DMG gives Brant 15% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 10s.

Mid-air Attack's DMG Multiplier is increased by 30%. Casting Returned from Ashes causes a secondary blast, dealing Fusion DMG equal to 30% of the DMG dealt by Returned from Ashes, considered Basic Attack DMG.

Weapons
Brant's signature and by far best weapon. The massive Energy Regen, Basic ATK DMG and small CRIT Rate boosts the weapon offers are all Brant's top stats, allowing him to sport the Tidebreaking Courage set comfortably, even with a Fusion DMG Bonus Echo if you build his Energy Regen well. However, this sword isn't good on anyone else — only pull it if you have Brant, and if you do pull it, know you'll only use it on him.
Camellya's signature weapon is usable by all Basic Attack focused Sword wielding characters, but clearly designed with her in mind due to a lot of its power locked behind spending Concerto mid-rotation - something only Camellya can do. Offers a decent amount of ATK%, CRIT RATE% and Basic Attack DMG for all characters but a huge Basic Attack DMG bonus after spending Concerto. A reasonably good option for Brant given most of his damage is Basic ATK focused, but not quite as strong as it might seem at first glance due to it having no Energy Regen - one of Brant's best stats.
Overture is one of the only weapons Brant can use to reasonably satisfy Tidebreaking Courages requirements. With that said it's still not trivial, requiring many Energy Regen sub stats and double Energy Regen 3 cost echoes. If you can pull all of that off though, the solid damage boost from the Sword's huge Energy Regen stat combined with the boost from the Tidebreaker set over other options, makes this weapon a competitive choice. Unfortunately, the Concerto from this weapon serves no purpose as Brants rotations are based around his Forte gauge and not concerto or energy. Performs significantly worse without hitting the 250% energy threshold to use Tidebreaking Courage set.
The combination of Energy Regen, CRIT Rate and solid Base ATK make this weapon a stand out choice for Brant, Its small ATK% boost it is also reasonably easy to work into his rotations. A top weapon option for Brant but one that doesn't allow him to use his best Echo set Tidebreaking Courage at S1 without other sources of Energy Regen.
Sword option for Heavy and Basic ATK users with an easy to trigger passive - with the only downside being its 10 second time limit. For characters that use their Skill multiple times per rotation, this downside is a non-issue but for Main DPS characters who take up a lot of field time and don't use their skill often this sword can lose value. Brant can easily keep this swords bonus active throughout his rotation, making it a very strong 4* choice, but its lack of Energy Regen can allow other options to pull ahead of it under specific circumstances.
Exceptional all-around generic Sword gaining its bonus close to unconditionally as most Resonators almost always aim to make use of their Intro skill and very few characters spend more than 15 seconds on field during their duration.
Often inferior to Commando of Conviction for DPS, this sword is still a great F2P 4* option for characters who need the energy boost. Realistically however, only consider this option over Commando of Conviction if you have energy problems on your character.
Echo set
Echo set 1

5pcs Set: Increase the Resonator's ATK by 15%. Reaching 250% Energy Regen increases all Attribute DMG by 30% for the Resonator.
The 5pcs Tidebreaking Courage set suits Brant perfectly as he automatically gets the attribute DMG bonus from him getting 250% Energy Regen which he should be building. All other stats provided by this set benefit Brant directly.
Transform into Dragon of Dirge and summon a Grief Rift lasting for 5s. Periodically deal 36.81% Fusion DMG to enemies within the area of effect.
The Resonator with this Echo equipped in the main slot gains 12.00% Fusion DMG Bonus and 12.00% Basic Attack DMG Bonus.
CD: 25s.
Passively increases Brant's Fusion DMG Bonus and Basic Attack DMG Bonus. The best-in-slot echo for Brant.
Echo set 2

5pcs Set: Fusion DMG + 30% for 15s after releasing Resonance Skill.
A good alternative option for Brant if you plan to make him the Main DPS. This set gives him a lot of Fusion DMG bonuses which he benefits from. As Tidebreaking Courage requires a lot of Energy Regen to use the 5-pc set bonus, Molten Rift is great for giving him the buffs without having any requirements. This set is more forgiving and is great especially if you don't have Unflickering Valor as his weapon.
Transform into Nightmare: Inferno Rider and jump to attack enemies in front, dealing 405.00% Fusion DMG.
The Resonator with this Echo equipped in their main slot gains 12.00% Fusion DMG Bonus and 12.00% Resonance Skill DMG Bonus.
Hold Echo Skill to transform into Nightmare: Inferno Rider and enter Riding Mode. When exiting Riding Mode, deal 283.50% Fusion DMG to enemies in front.
CD: 25s.
A good option for a main DPS Brant as it passively increases his Fusion DMG Bonus and Resonance Skill DMG Bonus.
Echo set 3

5pcs Set: Upon using Outro Skill, increases the ATK of the next Resonator by 22.5% for 15s.
A good option for Brant, if you have another DPS. This set gives Energy Regen which benefits him, while also improving upon his outro skill by adding even more buffs to the next resonator swapped in.
Transform into Impermanence Heron to fly up and smack down, dealing 310.56% Havoc DMG.
Long press to stay as Impermanence Heron and continuously spit flames, each attack dealing 55.73% Havoc DMG.
Once the initial attack lands on any enemy, the current character regains 10 Resonance Energy. If the current character uses their Outro Skill within the next 15s, the next character's damage dealt will be boosted by 12% for 15s.
CD: 20s
Good echo choice for Brant as a Sub-DPS. Maximizes his outro skill buffs for the next resonator on the field.

Synergies & Team Formation
Synergies
Brant is the most natural partner for Changli as he enables the queen of quickswap to be played in a more hypercarry playstyle. Changli doesn't do much damage in a hypercarry-style team composition without Brant, but his 20% Fusion 25% Skill DMG Amplify Outro makes the world of a difference for her. The two together make a team that can easily clear any kind of content.
Brant is not only strong as a Hybrid character; he's also a very potent Main DPS. Running Sanhua for her 38% Basic ATK DMG Amplify to buff his personal damage isn't optimal, however it's still an amazing team. The playstyle with Brant and Sanhua is simple, has a ton of sustain and deals enough damage to work just fine. Do note that this duo isn't recommended for Whimpering Wastes though — it lacks maintainable AoE damage.
Brant's Outro, very similarly to Changli, works completely fine in Dual DPS teams with Chixia. The two compensate for each others' downtimes and buffs the biggest damage type Chixia has (being Fusion Skill DMG), which makes this team very viable — arguably stronger than Changli.
Similarly to Changli, Brant is a good option to consider for Dual DPS teams with Encore. Unlike Changli's Liberation DMG Amplify Outro Buff, Encore can utilize Brant's Skill DMG Amplify Outro buff on top of his general Fusion DMG Amplify, which makes the pair even stronger than the Changli version, also thanks to Brant's amazing personal damage.
One of the usual Healing Support options that can slot into any team. Super easy to use, provides amazing team-wide ATK% buffs and 15% DMG Amplify with one of the fastest rotations in the game.
Similar to Verina, a premium Healing Support option who can not only slot into any team, but also provide insane 12.5% Crit Rate, 25% Crit DMG, 25% ATK and 15% DMG Amplify buffs to your whole team. One of the best but also easy to use characters in the game.

A meticulously preserved Ammonoid fossil. Little Brant once stood atop a table, proudly declaring to his father that he had found a treasure hidden among the books. His father took off his glasses for a closer look, recognizing it as the Ammonoid fossil tucked away at the bottom of the bookshelf. Seizing the moment, his father recounted an adventure about unearthing the past and seeking the truth.
That Ammonoid became Brant's first treasure and marked the beginning of his journey into a world of endless adventure.

A sculpture of stacked masks, each crafted for a different play and occasion.
On stage, he is the star, the center of all eyes. With each mask, he breathes life into the tale, captivating the audience with joy and wonder. But offstage, there is no need to conceal his true self.
In that moment, he is, at last, simply Brant.

A tricorn hat, embroidered with the emblem of the Troupe of Fools.
Brant still remembers the first performance he witnessed aboard the Fool's Sail. The captain, undeterred by the crashing waves, led his crew through the Stygian Fjords and placed a tricorn atop the head of the eager young boy. The captain, with a playful wink, called him, "Captain Brant."
Years later, Brant also remembers his own first performance. Standing high on the mast, he shouted commands to raise the sails and steer the ship clear of deadly whirlpools that threatened to swallow them whole. At that moment, one of the crew reverently placed the very same tricorn upon his head. Cheers erupted as the entire crew shouted in unison, "Captain Brant! Captain Brant!"
